PERINGAVU MAHAVISHNU TEMPLE VISHNUPURAM MEVARKAL
Peringavu Mahavishnu Temple is located
at Mevarkal, a secluded village near Attingal town, about 40 km from
Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. The villagers believe the temple
brings them good luck and progress. It is situated at the top of a
raised land between two streams of paddy fields, amidst picturesque
surroundings. A cave, a grand-old mango tree and an assorted batch of
rare trees give the temple compound an out-of-the-world charm and calm.
Slow winds that always seem to pass through the temple lend the
atmosphere a natural air of spirituality.
The temple is open in mornings and
evenings, everyday. The temple rituals and functions are performed in
the right earnest as prescribed in the ancient scriptures. The temple
itself is believed to be five centuries old. Please check http://peringavutemple.com for a more detailed account of the temple's past.
